Great work on this plug-in. Just installed it on my site which I completely revamped and I expect to get rolling again soon (WP 2.1). Hi spellmank,

I slightly modified the plugin so that you can disable picture alignment. You won’t get the “float: left;” style anymore if you set FUP_USE_ALIGNMENT to false.

Please download version 1.1 and try it.

(Note however that the width in pixel is needed for a div if you include a caption, so that the caption does not overflow on both sides of the image).

    Salut Martin,

Merci beaucoup de m’avertir du probleme que tu as rencontre.

Thanks a lot for reporting the problem. I must frankly admit that I did not test the plugin on a Mac (simply because I don’t have one). I only checked it on IE and Firefox on Linux and Windows.

About the button that does not appear: I noticed the height of the upload iframe is sometimes too short, which causes the submit button to be hidden, but it these cases, I always had a vertical scroll bar, which would allow me to access the button. You didn’t have a scrollbar on the iframe?

About the deactivation not working, I never observed such a phenomenon. In fact, when you deactivate a plugin, the .php file is not read by Wordpress anymore (it is pretty much like if the file would be removed), so I really don’t understand how the plugin could work after being deactivated. A browser caching problem? What happens when you completely reload the page?

If you give me more info, I might try to look into this, but since I cannot reproduce the problem I won’t be of great help.

Attempting to implement the plugin for a blog running 2.0.2, I also notice the same problem with the missing “submit” button. On PC in IE, Firefox and Mozilla.

In addition, when I click the “Browse All” tab, the entire iframe disappears.

And scrollbars are nowhere to be seen in either instance.

No problems on a blog running 2.1.

    Hi John,

Thanks a lot for reporting the problem.

I found out the cause of this behavior (the plugin was developed on 2.0.4 and later ported for 2.0.6 but it happens not to be backward compatible). I am planning to release an updated version of the plugin which supports older WP 2.0.x versions as well.

    Stay tuned.

    Hi gbot,

    Thanks.
Yes, for watermarking to work, you need the “composite” utility (part of ImageMagick package) installed on your server.

    For more info see:
    http://www.imagemagick.org/script/composite.php

The plugin assumes this utility is located in the /usr/bin directory on the server. If it is located elsewhere, you can update the FUP_COMPOSITE_PATH option in flexible-upload.php.

Regarding watermarking, the plugin requires a binary part of the ImageMagick package. See my other comment.

I found out you can adjust the jpeg compression by adding a third parameter somewhere in the function wp_create_thumbnail() in admin-functions.php (wordpress 2.1.1)

    by :

I am by no means a coder but I did look through the .js file and it seems to me that none of the options in there actually show up. Icon? Align? Caption? The only things in my inline editor are the same exact things that show up in Manage >> Options, none of those options show up in either.

Ideas? For now my user can get buy with copying and pasting the image URL then using the “Image” button but that will probably get old after a while LOL

First of all, could you check the directory where the plugin is installed. It should be in wp-content/plugins/flexible-upload/ (you should not copy the files directly under wp-content/plugins/

If this point is ok, it would be nice if you could check (1) the apache error_log on your web server (if you have access to it) and (2) the Javascript console (it is accessible directly in Firefox).

When placing pictures on the right, the cushion is still odd, but the text doesn’t overlap the pic, so for now, all pics are right justified. Thanks again for a great plug-in. To fix your design, here’s what I propose you: edit the style.css file in the wp-content/themes/mistylook-101/ directory and add the following line:

    .imageframe { padding:0px 20px 0px 10px; }

This should give you a bit more space on the right of your pictures.

There is definitely a problem with the Send to Editor button. I read a lot of the comments regarding this issue and I found that for some reason it’s not visible and the scrollbar in the iframe doesn’t move at all to see it. From the Browse All frame I alt-clicked on one of the images to open the linked address into it’s own new window and then the Send to Editor button becomes visible. It’s just too bad there is now nothing to link back to for proper use. The only way I can use this plugin is to upload an image, attach all the properties to it, deacitvate the plugin, go back to the uploader and upload it w/out the plugin. The attributes stay with the image… hm. Such a wonderful tool but kind of a pain with that little bug. Still beats resizing a ton elsewhere.

Thank you very much for a very useful plugin - and simple to use.

I made a slight adjustment to the javascript code which I hope you’d like to incorporate. I replaced in line 302 the code

    ‘class=”imageframe” ‘

    with

    ‘class=”imageframe’ + align + ‘” ‘

which makes it much more flexible for using with a style sheet because for a right-floated image the class is now imageframeright and for a left-floated image the class is imageframeleft, while a centred image has the class imageframecenter.

    Hi

    Bit of a feature request…

I really like your plugin and its functionality, I’ve seen many that do similar things but not quite as well as this.

I run two multiuser blogs Team Pyranha & P&H Paddlers as such many of my users are novice computer users and not very net savvy so i try and keep posting to the blogs as simple as possible for them.

One of the problems i often have is that they upload HUGE photos that break the theme and require horizontal scroll bars, I then have to go back and resize the photos manually.

Would it be possible for me (as admin) to have access to the options page without giving them the extra controls at upload that will just confuse them? So only admins have the power to set the resize values?

This would basically Idiot proof the blog so they can’t mess things up…. which would be great for me.

Also is it possible to set the watermark to the bottom right corner?

Thanks for the great work on the plugin, I have one small observation/problem.

When you use the CSS image alignment, the post editor uses div tags instead of the default p tags for text.

However, this messes up the text formatting because the tags don’t give a line break before and after paragraphs.

As a result I am using the old-fashioned image alignment now, but that means I can’t put images in the centre.

    Any way of correcting this?

    +1 for Highslide support

Can I add my vote to GB’s suggestion to support Highslide please? I prefer highslide because if you are showing an image that is bigger than the browser window then it scales it down to fit in the window (with the option to expand to full size if you want).

I did take a look at the source and it wasn’t obvious to me - I felt like I’d have to make a lot of changes in lots of places (but that might just be my limited understanding). If I can help you solve this then please ask.

    Bonjour,

Je me demandais s’il était normal qu’un rel=”lightbox” soit automatiquement ajouté au lien vers l’image ?

Sinon félicitations pour votre plugin, il devrait être intégré par défaut dans WP !!

Is this plugin compatible with Wp V2.2? I did use it in Wp 2.1.3 and had no problem… excellent work

Yes, it’s compatible with WP 2.2. I use it on http://www.yazerty.net/ wich is a 2.2 :). I’ve just modify the plugin because it add a “class” in the img tag and I do not want it at all (a config page would be great to configure the outputed html :-)… !
